How to Contact Congress

You can contact your Senators & Representative in just one easy email!

AARO Advocacy Instructions

First, draft your text – You can write your own message or adapt the template provided by AARO.

Go to: https://democracy.io/#!/

• Enter your voting address in the United States and click “Submit.”
• Choose your two Senators and Representative and click “Write to them!”

Fill in the subject line – tell them what you want, such as, “Vote Yes on XXX bill” or “Vote No on YYY bill”.

Cut and paste your prepared text onto the website form.

Complete the required information:

• Email address
• First Name/Last Name/Prefix
• For the phone number enter your U.S. phone number if you have one. If you don’t have one, you may use your overseas number (without hyphens), but you must enter 10 digits, so drop numbers or add zero(s) if your overseas number is more or less than 10 digits. The system will not accept “+”.

Choose a topic from the pull-down menu that relates to the issue you are writing about.

Click "Submit." You have done it!
