AARO President William Jordan spoke at the monthly gathering Après-midi about issues Americans living overseas face and how Congress and the U.S. government often treat them unfairly as regards taxation, banking, transmission of citizenship/nationality, voting, and access to consular and other federal government services. He urged Americans overseas to be informed, engaged, active, and mobilized in fighting for their interests and not to be shy about registering their concerns with elected representatives and government officials.
The two-hour session on Zoom, entitled "Overseas Americans Are Citizens, Too: Why Changing Washington's Opinion of Overseas Americans Matters," welcomed over 130 viewers from around the world.
