AARO invites you to an online seminar on Financial Reporting Requirements, led by Zhanna Ziering with the participation of Jay Weill.
The seminar will focus on the FBAR and FATCA forms, and is targeted to both first time filers and those with more experience. The seminar will cover:
- The nature, requirements, differences between FBAR and FATCA
- New developments concerning trusts and gifts
- The situation in the real world of IRS enforcement
- Analysis of recent major case developments (Bittner, Toth, Bedrosian)
- Guidance (what to do?) when one is audited or has received notice of a civil or criminal action
Zhanna and Jay will answer your general questions after the presentation.
Zhanna, a lawyer with the Moore Tax Group, is a nationally recognized FBAR expert and the co-author of Bloomberg's BNA Tax Management Portfolio, Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts. She was co-counsel for the Center for Taxpayers Rights and co-author of the Amicus briefs to the Supreme Court in the Bittner, Toth and Bedrosian cases.
Jay is a very experienced civil and criminal tax controversy lawyer having served in the Tax Division of the US Department of Justice for 35 years, including 25 years as Chief of the Division in the US Attorney's Office in San Francisco. Jay is a partner in the San Francisco law firm Sideman & Bancroft.
