Exclusion from financial systems has become an increasingly serious problem facing millions of Americans resident abroad.
The most significant problem is the progressively difficult access to, and retention of, savings vehicles and retirement plans.
On June 30th, 2022, AARO sent a letter to each of the 28 members of the Senate Finance Committee to urge them to make suitable modifications of the SECURE Act passed by the House and of the Rise and Shine Act approved by the Senate Committee of Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, in order to reduce the financial exclusion that expats face in their retirement and investment accounts.
