If you are a parent or grandparent interested in seeking U.S. citizenship for your children or grandchildren born outside the United States, there is an online resource for you.

The Association of Americans Resident Overseas (AARO) and the Association of American Women in Europe (AAWE) have formed a new Facebook group: U.S. Citizenship for Chldren Born Abroad.

The group's purpose is to share information, resources, and recent personal experiences about seeking U.S. citizenship for children and grandchildren born overseas.

Citizenship experts in both organizations note that the U.S. citizenship acquisition process has become longer and more complicated: many people have difficulty completing the forms, or choosing the best U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (U.S.CIS) bureau for their appointment in the U.S.

Members will help each other navigate the process.

This group welcomes all members of AAWE and AARO members worldwide.
