AARO recently learned of proposed rule changes concerning the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) which would require additional documentation for US sponsors of intended family-member immigrants.
The proposed rule would change and now require submission of credit scores, certified copies of the last three years of US income tax and submission of bank account information.
In response, AARO sent a letter to Mark Phillips, Residence and Naturalization Chief- USCIS, with AARO’s objections to the proposed rule changes on the grounds that they are unfair, unjust, unnecessarily harsh, and unrealistic.
