AARO’s Views on H.R. 5432 – Tax Simplification for Americans Abroad Act

Submission to the office of Senator John Fetterman (D. PA) on September 9, 2024, responding to a request to elaborate on H.R. 5432 – Tax Simplification for Americans Abroad Act (the "Beyer bill”), in which AARO noted that, although it would make important progress in the area of taxation of overseas Americans, it could be extended to the areas of retirement planning and retail saving activity in order to mitigate financial access problems.
