On June 27, 2022, the Residence-Based Taxation Coalition, a consortium of organizations and businesses supporting residence-based taxation in place of citizenship-based taxation, and of which AARO is a member, submitted a letter to the House Ways & Means Committee to request hearings on the taxation of Americans abroad.
