Possible Relief from Duplicative Financial Reporting Filings

There may soon be relief from duplicative and confusing financial reporting filings (FATCA/FBAR) along with other significant reform measures via the recently introduced bi-partisan Taxpayer Assistance and Service (TAS) Act (S. 3931). The TAS Act, introduced by Senate Finance Chair, Mike Crapo (R. ID) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D. RI) on February 26, 2026, would provide common sense improvements to IRS procedures and administration, and would strengthen taxpayer rights and reduce their burdens by streamlining compliance.
