AARO relies on its network of volunteers for the success of our efforts. There are many ways to help out, whether you are located near our headquarters in Paris or anywhere in the world. Check out the following volunteer opportunities to find a match with your interests and skills.

  • Timing: Ongoing
  • Location: Paris and worldwide
  • Description: Writers in the Paris area to report on AARO events for our quarterly newsletter publication. Writers anywhere who want to share their Living Abroad experiences with our readers.
  • Skills: Good writing skills, willingness to work to (fairly loose) deadlines.

  • Description: Bloggers for cities, regions, countries on issues pertinent to Americans, and writers to contribute to our AARO Issues section.
  • Skills: Net savvy, good judgement, blogging experience desired (but not necessary).

Meetup Organizers

  • Location: Anywhere outside the U.S.
  • Description: Start a Meetup group to introduce AARO to the American community in your city. Organizing regular, informal events (usually monthly), you'll get a chance to meet new people and help build our membership base in a relaxed, friendly environment.   • Skills: Outgoing, organized persons who are comfortable meeting new people. Knowledge of AARO's issues, history, and accomplishments. You must be a member of AARO to start an authorized AARO Meetup.
