Americans Helping Americans Abroad

Question 1: Taxation

Would you commit to working with Americans residing abroad to reform the current citizenship-based US tax system?

The current tax system is by no means equitable or fair. It is written to favor industries, private organizations and individuals as political favor. If we want to get those seeking special favor out of government we must remove the incentive. The fair tax based on consumption would do that.
This would also eliminate the need to file taxes both overseas and domestically.

Question 2: Services

Will you support on-line access to government agencies and adequate funding for consular functions upon which Americans abroad rely?

This problem is not limited to those living overseas as anyone who contacts any federal agency in the US can testify. Calls and E mails are often ignored. I'm going through this now. Our government has become a self serving entity and those we elect seek only reelection. When there is a problem with an employee there is little to no recourse to discipline them so there is no incentive to perform. This applies to upgrading software and procedures as well. A major problem is our government is so many things to so many people it is incapable of doing even the basics and handling the layers of rules and personnel it already has. Much can and should be privatized or just eliminated as to more efficiently serve those government is established to serve.

Question 3: Banking

Would you support an enforceable right for all US citizens to a US bank account so they can retain their US savings and retirement accounts and make and receive payments in the United States?

Simply put yes. It is our money and property not the governments. The government has no right to track what we earn or what we do with what we earn without a warrant. Same with all civil forfeiture laws. The 4th amendment is very clear on this.

Message from the Candidate:

My wife and I are veterans who met overseas and understand the difficulties faced by those working abroad. I am pleased to see groups like AAR helping inform our citizens and addressing the issues they face. Many of these issues are exasperated by the agencies that are set up to help as we as a nation lost our vision and mission of service to our people. We need a return to this as we seek a return to our Constitutional roots. The main role of the federal government is to be there for our citizens no matter where they are yet serving the people has become secondary to serving government. To correct this we must seek to reduce governments role to what it is called to do and capable of doing. The answer to the problems government creates is not more government and if our needs are not being met by those who serve then solutions outside of government must be sought be it through privatization or automation.
